Q&A on Fashion vs Function

Luidgi Felix, Engineering Manager at Raytheon on the "next big thing" and if it will be driven by Fashion or Function: "Sneaker rental. Rent the top kicks for a fee so you don't have to worry about standing in line for them. So instead you can rent them for a night or weekend out. Definitely a fashion trend with a functional app."

Veronica, Lead UX Designer at Smartbear responds, "Active watches. They are fashionable as well as functional". On "next big thing" and if it will be driven by Fashion or Function: "Probably virtual phones. Where you carry a toggle and can view your OS and data from any device, wall and clothes."

Jason Stevens, Brand and Marketing Project Manager at Northeastern University writes, “I’ve seen the use of notebooks become very fashionable. I would attribute this to great marketing from Moleskine. However, we’re at a point now where people realize they don’t need to spend $25, but rather get the same function from a $5 version.

Kunal Bhatia, Co-founder & Design Lead at SlidesUp on one thing he thinks is super functional that he wishes will one day become fashionable: " Breathing strips! They help you breathe really well but make you look more sick than you actually are when you wear them."
